This resonates with me. This book is about freeing yourself from your anxiety. He took the best methods from a range of approaches. He only included the effective approaches that were tried and tested. "Anxiety stems from the idea that something bad is going to happen in the future.""99% of the worries and fears will never happen.""In every adversity lies a lesson and a blessing." - Steve Harvey. This is the growth mindset. My favorite mindset he wrote about is the mindset that the universe is friendly. This resonates. My favorite method he mentioned is affirmations for the above mindset."It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live." -Marcus Aurelius. Meditation is my favorite lifestyle method that he mentioned. He suggests 30 minutes at least three times a week and daily is better. I like how the author early on acknowledges that help can come from many different schools of thought, medical traditions and cultures! He provides helpful techniques for dealing with anxiety from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, and I admire and appreciate that. Often times, in reading books dealing with medicine or psychology, there is a singular method or view promoted. I like how this author accepts any method that is helpful and works as viable and useful. This book is like a doctor's bag, a toolbox as he states within the pages, that contains an assortment of 'remedies' to try and help you deal with your anxiety. I love that, and I also love how he acknowledges that anxiety does happen.. but accepting that, dealing with it and moving on only makes us stronger, like the athlete running hurdles. Myself, I think that's such a healthier and more beneficial way of dealing with and viewing anxiety. I have dealt with anxiety, and realized that my constant thinking about it and ruminating about it only made things worse. I needed to change my mindset, and he talks about that too. Ok, instead of rambling on and on, I'll finish this review. :) This book is down to earth, simple to understand and easy to put to use. I definitely recommend it!
